Setlists

A setlist (worship list) is a curated list of songs for a specific service or rehearsal. Unlike a program (which is the full order of the service with Bible, presentations, etc.), a setlist only groups songs — and adds useful info for the musicians like key, BPM, and arrangement notes.

  • Band rehearsal — the specific setlist for Thursday’s rehearsal.
  • Sunday service — only the songs for the service, with the agreed key.
  • Retreats or special events — the full setlist for the weekend.
  • Seasons — Advent songs, Easter, etc.

It gives musicians a clear view of what to play and in what key, without distractions from the rest of the program.

The + New setlist button in the top right:

  1. Title — e.g. “Rehearsal Jan 18” or “Sunday service”.
  2. Service date — associated date.
  3. Calendar event (optional) — link to an existing event.
  4. General notes — instructions for the whole setlist.
  5. Click Create.

Inside the setlist:

  1. + Add song button.
  2. Search in the catalog — autocomplete from your organization’s catalog.
  3. If the song isn’t in the main catalog, you can add it with a free title and artist:
    • Search lyrics on LRCLIB — the app tries to find them automatically.
    • Paste manually — if LRCLIB doesn’t have them.
    • No lyrics — just title and reference (useful for practice lists).

Each song in the setlist stores:

  • Title (required)
  • Artist
  • Key — e.g. G, Bbm, F#, D/F#
  • BPM — integer
  • Notes — free text (e.g. “start from the chorus”, “cut after verse 2”)
  • Lyrics status:
    • Found (found) — lyrics from LRCLIB.
    • Not found (not_found) — not located in LRCLIB.
    • Manual (manual) — lyrics pasted by a user.

Drag songs in the list to change the order. The numbering updates automatically.

A setlist can be in one of two states:

StateMeans
Draft (draft)Under construction. Musicians can see it but should expect changes.
Approved (approved)Ready for the rehearsal / service.

The state change is made with the Approve button in the editor. Whoever approves is recorded (reviewed_by field) with the approval date.

When you approve, you can add review notes — comments for the whole team about the setlist (e.g. “I changed the keys, check your guitars”). These notes appear next to the approved setlist.

Each setlist has a public link you can share with anyone — even people without an account:

  1. In the editor → Share → Generate public link.
  2. You copy the link (https://app.efaprojection.com/worship/p/...).
  3. Send it to the band group on WhatsApp or wherever.

Whoever opens the link sees:

  • Title, date, and notes.
  • The list of songs with key, BPM, and notes.
  • The lyrics of each song (if loaded).

The link is read-only and only works while the setlist is published. You can revoke it any time from the same panel.

Practice mode is a view optimized for keeping open on your phone or a tablet during rehearsal:

  1. Click on the setlist → Practice button.
  2. A full-screen view opens with:
    • Quick navigation between songs (side sidebar).
    • Lyrics and chords (if available).
    • Key and BPM clearly visible.
    • Night mode (white text on black) so you don’t get blinded on dark stages.

Useful for rehearsals where each musician has their own device open on the same setlist.

The Export PDF button in the editor. Generates a PDF with:

  • Title and date
  • Song list with key, BPM, notes
  • Lyrics (optional)

Useful for printing and handing out at rehearsal, or saving for reference.

Menu () → Delete. It asks for confirmation. The songs in the organization’s catalog are not deleted — only the list is deleted. Deletion is permanent.
