Songs
Your organization’s song repertoire lives in the Songs tab in the sidebar. Each song is saved with its lyrics in blocks (verses, choruses, bridges, etc.) and a default order you can edit.
Create a new song
Section titled “Create a new song”There are two ways:
Import from LRCLIB
Section titled “Import from LRCLIB”LRCLIB is a public song-lyrics database. The app searches it directly:
- Click + or Import song inside the Songs tab.
- Search online tab.
- Type the title and/or artist — results show up live.
- Click a result → the lyrics drop into the app with their sections.
- Tweak the title and author if needed, then save.
Create manually
Section titled “Create manually”- Click + → Create manually tab.
- Paste the full lyrics into the text box.
- The app splits the lyrics into blocks at double line breaks. Each block becomes a separate slide.
- Assign labels to each block (Verse 1, Chorus, Bridge, etc.) so you can reorder them later.
Edit a song
Section titled “Edit a song”Double-click a song in the sidebar (in edit mode) or use the context menu → Edit. You’ll be able to:
- Change the title and author.
- Rewrite any section.
- Reorder sections by dragging them.
- Duplicate a section (handy for repeated choruses).
- Delete a section.
Changes save when you close the editor and sync to the server.
Search and filter
Section titled “Search and filter”The search field at the top of the sidebar matches:
- Title
- Author
- Lyrics fragment
As your repertoire grows, you can mark songs as favorites (star icon) and filter them with the Favorites button in the sidebar.
Project a song
Section titled “Project a song”Three ways, depending on the context:
- Double-click the song in the sidebar → it’s added to the current program and its first slide is projected.
- Drag and drop to the center panel → it’s added to the program at the spot where you drop it.
- Right-click → Project now — doesn’t add it to the program, just projects it immediately. Handy when the preacher asks for a song that wasn’t planned.
Once projecting:
- Arrow keys
↑↓←→change slides. - Esc sends to black screen.
- Cmd/Ctrl + G opens the grid with all slides so you can jump to a specific one with a click.
Delete a song
Section titled “Delete a song”Right-click → Delete. You’ll be asked to confirm. The delete is permanent and replicates across the system (web panel and other desktop machines).
How it’s stored locally
Section titled “How it’s stored locally”Every song lives in the local SQLite database on the desktop, synced with the server by UUID. See Sync if you want the details.
Next step
Section titled “Next step”With songs loaded, the natural next step is to build a Program for the service.
