Presentations (web panel)

From Presentations you upload PDF or PowerPoint (PPTX) files that the system converts into a series of images — one per page — ready to be projected like any other program item.

  1. + New presentation button in the top right.
  2. Pick the file (PDF or PPTX) from your disk.
  3. Give it a descriptive name.
  4. Click Upload.

The file is uploaded to the server and stays in the Processing state.

Processing runs in a Celery task on the server side:

  • PDF: each page is converted directly to a PNG image.
  • PPTX: the server opens the file with LibreOffice, converts it to PDF, and then extracts the pages as images.

While it’s processing you see a spinner over the presentation in the list. When it finishes:

  • In the web panel: the first page’s thumbnail appears.
  • In the mobile app: you get a push notification.
  • In the desktop app: the slides are ready on the next sync.

The duration depends on the size:

  • A 10-page presentation takes ~10-30 seconds.
  • A 100-page one can take several minutes.

Click on the presentation in the list to see:

  • Grid of thumbnails for every page.
  • Total size and page count.
  • Who uploaded it and when.
  • Programs that use it (list of references).

Clicking a thumbnail opens the page at full size.

Recommendation: if your presentation has animations, custom fonts, or complex layouts, export to PDF from PowerPoint before uploading. It’s more predictable.

  • Max size per file: 50 MB.
  • Number of presentations: depends on the plan. Free: 5, Church: 50, Pro: unlimited. See Plan and subscription.

If you uploaded a version and want to change it:

  1. Click the presentation → detail panel.
  2. Actions → Replace file.
  3. Pick the new file.
  4. The app reprocesses the slides. The name and references in programs are preserved.

Slides stay in the order of the source file. If you need to reorder:

  • In the source — reorder in PowerPoint/Acrobat and re-upload.
  • In the program — add slides to the program individually (each one as an item), and reorder them there.

Menu () → Delete. It asks for confirmation. It deletes:

  1. The source file.
  2. The generated slides.
  3. The reference in any program (affected programs show “Presentation deleted”).

Deletion is permanent.

If a presentation fails to process, its status changes to Error with a message. Common causes:

MessageSolution
Corrupt fileTry reopening in PowerPoint, save, and re-upload
Unsupported formatWe only accept PDF and PPTX. For Keynote, export to PDF
Size exceeds 50 MBCompress images or split it into two
Password-protected fileRemove the password before uploading

If the error persists, reach out from FAQ and support.

  1. Monday — the preacher prepares his sermon in PowerPoint.
  2. Saturday — exports to PDF and uploads to the web panel.
  3. Sunday early — you check that it’s processed (in the web panel or via the mobile notification).
  4. Service — the presentation is synced to desktop and projects like any other program item.

To integrate the presentation into the service order, see Programs.
