Keyboard shortcuts

EFA Projection has a small, focused set of shortcuts. Most actions happen by clicking the menu bar or the preview — the shortcuts are reserved for what you use during the live service.

Projection shortcuts

These are the ones you’ll use live, during the service:

Previous slide / verse	← or ↑
Black screen (toggle)	Esc
View all slides (grid)	Cmd/Ctrl + G
Close grid	Esc

Tip

These shortcuts work as long as you don’t have focus on a text field (input, textarea, select). If you’re editing the title of a song, the arrow keys move the text cursor instead of changing slides. Click outside the field to get the shortcuts back.

System shortcuts

EFA Projection uses the native operating system menu, so the standard macOS/Windows shortcuts work:

Bible mode

When you enter Bible mode (from the View → Bible mode menu), the slide shortcuts switch to controlling verses:

Exit Bible mode	Esc (second press) or click Exit

Mouse interaction

Beyond the shortcuts, several actions happen with click or double-click:

Add item to the program	Double-click the item in the sidebar
Select a slide in the program	Click the slide in the center panel
Jump to a specific slide	Click in the grid (Cmd/Ctrl + G)
Reorder program items	Drag and drop in the center panel
Edit an item	Click the item in the sidebar (edit mode)

App menu

Actions that don’t have a dedicated shortcut happen from the dropdown menu in the top bar:

• File — New program, Save program, Quit.
• View — All slides (Cmd/Ctrl+G), Bible mode, light/dark/system theme.
• Help — Keyboard shortcuts, Tour, Documentation, Contact support, About.

Note

The Ctrl/Cmd + N, Ctrl/Cmd + S, Ctrl/Cmd + B hints that appear next to menu items aren’t bound as keyboard shortcuts yet — they’re visual labels that hint at the intent. Click the menu to run the action.

Customization

For now the shortcuts are not customizable. If your workflow needs key rebinding (for example, mapping a physical DJ controller to EFA Projection), write to us from FAQ and support.
